... your host on this site on Indian Steam Locomotives. Steam is a passion for me. But I thought I'd let you know what I do for a living. I work as Consulting Photo Editor for India's number one weekly business magazine ~ Businessworld. For the magazine I shoot fancy corporate moghuls; media barons; businessmen and women; dot.com guys - some of which I've pinned up for you to see.

Prior to this I was Photo Editor with Business Today where I did lots of serious people photos and conceptual visuals to illustrate specific management ideas.

In another avtar, and far away from the Corpo. images at Businessworld and Business Today, my work consists of features for travel and leisure magazines.

Food is my second love - I love cooking & eating (have a terrible time controlling my weight!!) and do a lot of food shots.

And of course I do candid stuff - purely personal work - street photos, children, bits of fashion, landscape, abstract. My favourite format is 4x5 for my steam and personal work. I work with an old wood field camera (handmade in India!) which is absolutely delightful to use. I do my own 4x5 b&w processing and I print on my home-made wooden enlarger which houses a cold light (Mercury Argon grid) as the light source (I got this from Ansel Adam's books).
